Welcome to the Market Bulletin! The West Virginia Department of Agriculture is proud to continue sharing news and information with our readers through the state’s premier agricultural publication. First published in 1916 under the direction of Agriculture Commissioner James H. Stewart, the Market Bulletin has undergone numerous redesigns throughout its history. While its appearance has evolved over time, its mission has remained constant: to present a wide range of agricultural stories and to keep the public informed about the work of the WVDA.
The classified advertising section remains a free service for state residents, and the “What’s Cookin’” recipe page continues to be among the most widely read features of the publication.

Ad Deadline
October 2025
Phone-In ads for the October issue must be received by 12 noon on Thursday, September 11.
Written ads for the October issue must be received by 1 p.m. on, Friday, September 12.
November 2025
Phone-In ads for the November issue must be received by 12 noon on Tuesday, October 14.
Written ads for the November issue must be received by 1 p.m. on, Wednesday, October 15.

For electronic subscriptions to the Market Bulletin, please state that you would like to receive the Bulletin and give the e-mail address that you would like the Bulletin sent to electronically. If you receive the Bulletin by mail and prefer to have it sent electronically, state your complete name and address so that we may remove you from the postal mailing list.
Market Bulletin Subscription Rate
The out-of-state Market Bulletin subscription cost is $10 per year. A two-year subscription is $16.
